Cradock, a town located in the upper valley of the Great Fish River in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, is known for its large farming community, and is home to two of Grasslands Agriculture’s farms. Grasslands Agriculture owns a total of 16 farms, comprising over 16 000 dairy cows, producing about 96 million litres of milk per year.

The two farms in the Eastern Cape region – Riverina and Heemstede – each have 1 150 milking cows, and approximately 134 hectares of silage units. The two farms are home to four Kubota M8540 units, which have recently been joined by a new addition to the fleet, a brand new E-Kubota 6075 Pro 4WD tractor.
Kubota has partnered with Escorts Ltd to produce the E-Kubota tractor range, which caters to all farmers, regardless of scale. These tractors are sure to find a ready market in South Africa.

In a multi-faceted joint venture, Japan’s leading tractor manufacturer, Kubota Corporation, will jointly develop and manufacture utility tractors with Escorts Limited of India. The two companies will jointly sell the range in India, while Kubota will export to selected international markets, including South Africa.
Ahead of NAMPO 2019 – to be held between 14 and 17 May at Bothaville in the Free State – local farmers will be glad to know that Smith Power Equipment will soon be adding a new utility tractor brand to be jointly developed and manufactured by Kubota and Escorts in India.
