Kipor, distributed in South Africa by Smith Power Equipment (SPE), reports an unprecedented demand for its portable generators in the household market.
‘There are several reasons for this,” says Tom Bloom, GM of SPE’s Power Products division. “Firstly our portable generators are easy to use and are famous for their reliability. Secondly, they run quietly, which is a massive advantage in the home environment and, thirdly, we have built up a world class service and support network in the unlikely event of there being any problems,” he says.
Bloom adds that Kipor’s customers are learning quickly that there are many fly-by-nights in the generator market at the moment who are out for a “quick buck”. “These people often do not have the experience or the expertise to give the right advice and, most importantly, are not able to give the requisite backup service.
“Check the company carefully. Is their product excellent, do they have an excellent service record, do they have the knowledge about your particular needs? If you can tick all these boxes then go ahead with your purchase even if it means paying a little more!” says Bloom.
The Kipor digital Sinemaster generators have proved extremely popular in the household market. They provide clean and quiet portable power and are ideal for running sensitive equipment such as laptops, TVs, and music centres.
The two best-sellers in the Kipor Sinemaster range are the Kipor IG1000 with an output of 1kVA and a running time of 4 hours and the Kipor IG2600 with an output of 2.6 kVA and a running time of 3 hours. They are both easily carried –the IG1000 weighing 14kg (dry) and the IG2600 29kg (dry) – and operate at exceptional noise levels – 54-59db and 58-65db (@7m) respectively.
Kipor generator sets, world renowned for their quality and durability, are sold in more than 130 countries worldwide. Designed for business and home use they are compact, sound insulated and provide clean and quiet backup power. Smith’s Kipor generators range from 1kVA to 3000 kVA.
